Revelation 4:1  “…which must take place after this”
Obviously refers to things that will happen in the future.  Some also believe this is reflective of the final timeline with regard to the church age.  Saying after this represents leaving the church age and moving into the time of the last week, after the age of grace.  The church as a body isn’t mentioned again, the belief being that those of the family of God have been taken to heaven with Christ at the rapture, and what John now sees is a vision of what will happen to those who are left on earth to endure the last week of Daniel’s prophecy.  Some believe the messages to the churches also represent prophecies of the conditions of the family of God through the time after the resurrection.  Thus we have a prophecy of the church age and now a prophecy of what happens after the church is gone.

2  “…I was in the Spirit…”
Obvious to him how he was seeing all of this.  Wasn’t transported there bodily, but was able to interact using his spirit.  Wonder what this says about how the spirit dimension interconnects with the physical.

2-8  Description of the throne of God and those around it.  Much speculation as to what the creatures represent by how John describes them.  Also have to wonder if what he wrote is the result of trying to describe the indescribable.  Will definitely be interesting to see once we get there.

8-11  “…Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created”
This is the important part of what is seen.  All give glory and honor and praise to the one who sits on the throne.  Those with crowns cast them before Him.  What they have been given is all due to Him and His power and majesty.

I hope you enjoy reading and studying His word.  May it accomplish what He desires.  Please feel free to comment or post questions.  Thanks for reading!
